Deliberate Reinforcement
This is a textile collection that studies the set rules of a certain technique and translates it with a playful approach. With a curious mind, our traditional skills can be studied, perfected and applied in innovative ways to contemporary pieces. This allows for finding calmness in following the rules, but also granting room for inventiveness.
Irregular, but deliberate patterns are created using unusual materials like wood and ceramics, together with the familiar and practical cotton. The contrast between a clean and functional white gallery and colourful art serves as inspiration in terms of colour and design. Yarns are intertwined and tightly woven in order to create a sense of security.
